A Texas Legend

Saturday night I wanted to expose Emme to a true country and western legend, the one and only Willie Nelson. Along with exposing her to some great classics such as "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain", "Angels Flying Too Close the Ground" and "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Cowboys", I also exposed her to an exteme amount of second hand smoke. Not exactly what I had in mind, but hopefully not too much damage was done. We met Bonnie and Brett (and Brett's fat lip from getting hit in the face with a bungy cord) at Pappasitos for some pre-concert nachos, and then headed to the largest honky tonk in the world, Billy Bob's Texas. If you are ever in Fort Worth, you must go to Billy Bob's. It is the only place in the world you can see indoor live bull riding, get your picture taken on a stuffed bucking bull, two-step under a glittering crystal ball shaped as a saddle, and see some of the most interesting dub-t, I mean people you will ever see gathered in one location. We also met the Bonos, the Anthonys, the Browns, the Lesters and some of the Lesters' friends from England. Culture shock anyone?

Willie put on a great show, even if he didn't make it to the stage until 10:45 (approximately an hour after I am usually in bed, so sad). I couldn't complain, however, because there were 3 other girls in our group who are more pregnant that I am. Nothing says wild night on the town like four pregnant women! All in all, we had a great night.

Rube went to the Cowboys game on Sunday, and I had a very stressful day that conisisted of getting a pedicure and reading a "how the heck do you take care of a baby" book. Back to work tomorrow. Until next time.

And it begins....

Today seemed as good a day as any to enter into the world of the blogosphere. Yes, I just typed the word blogosphere. I would likely be a candidate voted as "least likely to blog", but with our darling daughter, Mary Elia "Emme" Guerra, arriving in a few short months, and with our dearest relatives in Lubbock, San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, Houston and Memphis, Tennessee, not to mention our good friends scattered about Texas and elsewhere, I thought this would be a wonderful way to share the milestone moments that occur in that precious first year of life.
I promise to be as diligent as possible to update my post regulary, and I am sure that will not be a problem considering my mom will send me gently worded reminders. Love you Moms!

One more thing, I must give a shout out to my blogging friend Tiffany Bright. She is my blog inspiration, who suggested I start my own blog. I only hope I can acheive the success that The Bright Spot has achieved.
