Weekend in the 'Bock (that is cool slang for Lubbock)

Another week and weekend has passed us by. I cannot believe how the time is flying, and I think it is due to the fact I have so much to do before little Emme arrives! Rube and I headed off in different directions this weekend, which we do not do often, but sometimes is a necessity. He had to "work" at the Hyatt Hill Country Resort in San Antonio playing golf with customers, and I had a high school friend's wedding in Lubbock. The wedding was beautiful, and I got to see a lot of old friends that I have lost touch with since high school, which was nice. Congrats to Suzanne and Cole! What wasn't nice was that approximately 52 people touched my pregnant belly. Some asked, some didn't, some didn't just touch and actually rubbed, some patted, and although cursing under my breath I thought I exhibited a great deal of self control since my typical reaction is to jump back and block the offending hand with a quick chop block. That would have made things awkward, so I held back. Other than the wedding I spent my time shopping with mom for myself and Emme, relaxing at home with my dad while eating good food and obsessing over the Twilight series. I am so embarrassed. I am 32 and I love this teen series.

It is now the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, and I am a week and a half late posting this blog. Another weekend has gone by, and we enjoyed Ruben's mom and dad, his oldest sister Monica and her husband, Steve, their two boys, Alex and Ryan, and their daughter Jessica, Ruben's cousin, Stephanie and her husband, Greg, and their two boys, Vince and Joaquin, all at the house on Saturday. I made the largest amount of chicken spaghetti I have ever seen in my life (over shot that a bit) and we had a great time watching some football. By the end of the evening, my feet looked liked Fred Flinstones and I ended up passing out in front of everyone in the 4th quarter of the slaughter that was the OU v. Tech game. Ruben promised me that I was not snoring and drooling, but he was probably just being nice. Sunday was spent doing as little as possible. I read most of the 4th and final book of Twilight for most of the day. I could not put that thing down!

Tomorrow, me, Kate and Rube plus 3 dogs are heading to Lubbock for Thanksgiving. We have a lot to be thankful for this year, so I am very much looking forward to the holiday. I hope you all enjoy a wonderful day with family and friends, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I will leave you with a fond memory of days gone by when A&M had a football team. Gig 'Em!
